All-Time Leader in MLB Home Runs - Barry Bonds 801*?
Now that Barry Bonds has punctured threw the impossible 755 second-place home run barrier set by Hank Aaron, he has only one last major hurdle to pass. The really really untouchable record of 800 home runs that everyone pre-destines Alex Rodriguez to make — in the Year 2014 or so? — is next…

Bonds apparently is on his way after cracking number 757 on Wednesday night into the depths of McCovey Cove. It’s a far-gone conclusion at this point that A-Rod’s magic number will be 800 and will be the mark in the future to surpass. But, who would doubt that Barry can’t ramp up his production over the next two years as a DH in the American League to get to the magic 801* number?

And my question to all, after Bonds elicpses Rodriguez’s record of 800, will the asterisk still remain for Bonds even at 801*? 811*? 821*? The man is not done, people. Regardless of the speculation on whether Albert Pujols, Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder, or obviously Alex Rodriguez attaining a certain number, will Barry Bonds and the asterisk ever be inseparable, regardless of the number?
