American Gladiators

The blogosphere has weighed in on the new American Gladiators and the word is no bueno.   Well….that’s actually two words…oops.  The new show debuted last night to less than stellar reviews.

Since this event appears to be more important than I thought — although I did report on the new AG formation HERE and suggested new games such as ROAD-SIDE BOMB, ROID-CAGE, and BAGHDAD STROLL –  I feel obliged to give ya’ll some opinions from the Blog world.

From We Are The Postmen:

Perhaps it was best to just let this one forever live in the context of the early 90s. I think Malibu would have wanted it that way

From Awful Announcing:

Oh man this is a new level of awful. Laila Ali is the most monotone dreadful actress I’ve ever seen and Hulk Hogan is too hopped up on HGH to even make sense.

From Withleather

I watched about five minutes of it, and yeah, it sucked.  But all of the changes are on par with how American TV has changed in the last 15 years; the show itself really isn’t considerably worse.

From Fake Plastic Noodles (??!)

Although from what I’ve heard, the old one is better. I guess some things are just better left untouched.

From Smoothpiece

Then the Gladiators were probably the biggest tools I’ve seen. They act like a 3rd stringer that makes a tackle on special teams in the 4th quarter when their team is down by 40 points. Pretty pathetic.
