Shaquille O’Neal has a BIG appetite for stuff. The dude is a serious threat to global warming with his gi-normous carbon footprint that rivals the output of the country India.

The TV show EXTRA is reporting some of the details of Shaq’s spending and his insatiable consumption of stuff in his divorce settlement from wife Shauna (as reported HERE).

Check some of these numbers:

$1,500 for cable television….I once rang up such a number at the Renaissance Orlando for pay-per-view movies….umm…yes, ALL Disney…sick bastards.

$110,000 for monthly vacations….I mean, who can blame him? The tedious stresses of South Beach can wear on a brother.

$17,000 for clothing….polyester ain’t cheap on a 7′ 0″ frame the size of King Kong.

$26,500 for babysitting….clubbin’ in South Beach ain’t just about the cover and cocktails.

$23,000 at gas stations….now, who doesn’t buy a couple lottery tickets while fillin’ up?

IT IS WITH DEEP SADNESS THAT I POST…

…that Jeffrey Michael Zamora II passed-away last Friday, January 18, 2008 from complications related to his battle with leukemia.

Jeffrey was 2 years-old and was survived by — among others – his parents Jeff and Erika Zamora, who were fortunate to be able to share their lives with him since he was born on November 1, 2005 in Santa Barbara, CA. Jeff is a long-time, best friend of mine going back to sixth-grade with whom I’ve shared many of life’s experiences.

I was fortunate to meet Jeffrey and share some of his little time on this Earth. There was never a braver, happier, cute kid to walk on this planet. During his struggle with leukemia, and the subsequent chemotherapy treatments, he never complained, always had a smile, and showed the kind of heart-of-a-champion that we can all strive to attain in life.

As incredible, his life brought out the kind of spirit and community that I personally had never experienced. Family, friends, acquaintances, and non-acquaintances ALL rallied around this kid in a manner and vigor that was truly amazing. For me, his legacy will be about that….his life will be about that. I’m proud of him for that and appreciate him for making me understand the importance of these things.

We’ll miss you, little buddy.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 5pm-7pm at Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapel located at 15 E. Sola. There will be a memorial service on Thursday January 24, 2008 at 10am at Trinity Baptist Church located at 1002 Cieneguitas Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jeffrey Michael Zamora Fund at any Santa Barbara Bank & Trust.

CHINA LIKES PROPAGANDA AGAIN…

The Games have begun!

The Chinese government has vowed to turn-up the propaganda machine in order to temper the rising impact of human rights groups, the proliferation of anti-government information, and to raise the image of China as the 2008 Olympic Games approach…although the intent of a stronger propaganda tactic was not explicitly directed at the Olympics.

The Chinese President Hu Jintao, seemingly weary of the Olympics and it’s potential platform to expose the Chinese government’s human-rights indiscretions, has rang the propaganda bell –

Officials should “perform well the task of outward propaganda, further exhibit and raise up the nation’s good image,” Hu said.

Reports on his remarks Tuesday to party leaders and propaganda officials dominated the front page of the party’s flagship People’s Daily and other official newspapers Wednesday.

The reports did not indicate any direct mention of the Olympics by Hu. However, they said he called for boosting China’s “cultural soft power,” a reference to influence in culture, sports and other spheres outside traditional military might and hard-nosed diplomacy. [link]

Blah, blah, blah…..as long as I don’t have to chew on cardboard steamy buns [link], or contract lead poisoning from my Dora doll [link], or earn less royalties on my music [link], and can practice free religion [link]…I really don’t want to get involved. I’m a pacifist, not an activist! F*cker!

FYI….I’m really looking forward to this summer’s Tiananmen Square gun show. I hear it’s just terrific! The best in the world….

THINGS COULD GET REAL INTERESTING DOWN UNDER

Lest we forget, stuff is happening down in Australia this week.

No, it’s not the filming of CROCODILE DUNDEE XXV where Paul Hogan takes on Al Qaeda in Iraq– although….note to self….pitch Universal Studios next week — but, in fact, people are hitting fuzzy yellow things for two weeks at the 2008 Australian Open….and things are getting vaarrry interesting in the woman’s semi’s.

A finals match-up between super hotties Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic is a distinct possibility, as both have advanced to the semi’s with wins over Justine Henin and Venus Williams, respectively.

(As you may know, the loss of Justine Henin really tears me up….as I’ve poured my heart out about her possibly missing the Olympics HERE.)

But, in order for this “dream” match-up to occur, Maria must get past Jelena Jankovic and Ana must best Daniela Hantuchova for the world to see this delectable match-up.

(Crosses fingers, gets down on knees and prays, rubs rabbit’s foot, puts used horse shoe at the top right corner of his front door-frame, slips on lucky charm bracelet, rubs one out, promises to NEVER rub one out again for good luck…..)

French TV’s Nouvelle show similar to our own stupid/beloved American Idol, brought to the stage one hell of a fat — and I don’t mean “phat” — beat boxer.

This guy brings out multiple sounds and vibrations from his mouth, throat, stomach and probably his ass. Check it yo!
