Former Atlanta Falcon quarterback Michael Vick is back playin’ the game he loves in prison. Dog Breeding Football.
According to letters sent by Vick to Falcon’s owner Arthur Blank, the convicted dog-mutilator has been getting his game-on in prison at the Leavenworth federal prison in Kansas. He plays quarterback with the prisoners, trying to keep in shape as he serves his 23-month sentence.
Blank says Vick is playing football at Leavenworth. That’s one way to pass his time and keep his arm loose. He’s likely the first player picked when the inmates are choosing up sides or the guards are choosing up sides for them. Vick’s sprinter speed surely comes in handy just in case a dog-loving inmate thinks it’s cool to sack an NFL quarterback and break his shoulder.
“He is staying in shape,” Blank told The News. “Apparently, there was a prison football team and he played quarterback for both sides.” [link]
This is really good news for….umm….for….err….for….well, I’m not sure? Prisoners who like to pummel spoiled, ungrateful celebrities/athletes gone awry? For PETA who is happy Vick’s rehabilitation seems to be going well? For NFL fan’s who can’t wait to see Vick continue his disappointing career? Or maybe for Adam Sandler’s publicist who still hasn’t mentally recovered from trying to positively spin the worst sports movie of all-time, the 2005 re-make of The Longest Yard.
