Washington Redskin’s safety Sean Taylor died this morning from a critical gun shot wound shot that severed his femoral artery. He was 24 years-old.
A travesty….not only because the man could lay the wood on someone, but because he had turned into an NFL poster-child for ‘boy becoming a man’ . A real feel good story for the league. After run-in’s with authorities – and some less than savory accusations over his recent past –Taylor had turned the corner, stayed clean, and by all accounts was upstanding citizen raising a daughter and responsibly going about his career.
Although I’m far from a Redskin fan, I can say I was definitely a fan of Sean Taylor, his story of maturation, and the way hit put a lickin’ on his opponents….
